Cases – Portbase – implementation new information system
Implementation of a new information and communication system
What they wanted
Portbase’s growth has shown that the current communication and information system is no longer sufficient. Qhuba was therefore called in to identify the current difficulties and optimize the system. Both internal and external parties played a major role in this due to privacy and competition-sensitive information processed by this system.
What have we done
Qhuba, together with the CIO, analyzed the current system according to the SCOPE model. Input was also requested from customers and internal users. Based on this information, a project plan was created and the new optimized system was implemented. An important part of this system is the different wishes of customers and users and the choices that can be made between which data is and is not shared.
What have we achieved?
After the implementation of the new system, it has become easier for Portbase and its customers to share data with each other. This is important for accelerating loading and unloading times, makes it easier for customs to check freights and makes it clearer more quickly whether there are processes that can be optimized. As a result, the Dutch ports continue to maintain their important competitive position.
